Another item from our personal collection. The wife and I have decided after more than 30 years of collecting, to turn loose of some of our many pieces that we have enjoyed for years to make room for some of the bucket list pieces we have always wanted and to let some of the newer collectors be able to experience the things we've held for years. As you can see, here is a smaller piece, but with personality big as all outdoors!! Aprx. 2 1/2" Tall. This is the # 5215 TO ( topaz opalescent ) Squirrel. Made by Fenton in late summer 1999, Exclusively for Rosso Wholesale Glass Co. Phil and Helen Rosso of Port Vue, Pa. According to glass historian Dr. Jim Measell, Fenton only made a few "turns " of these little beauties. Making them a Very Hard to Find item indeed ! This one is a true beauty. It is a very nice, crisp, clean mold Strike. Shiny, clear Topaz, canary yellow glass. Light opalescence at the top of the head and top of the tail. No marks, no scratches, no chips. Base is ground nice and level. Clear impression of the Fenton oval w/9. And original silver sticker. Just a gorgeous little fellow!! This piece is found on page 135 of Dr. James Measell's great book " Fenton Glass - The 90's Decade. By the Glass Press/Antique Publications, Marietta, OH. Blue " eye winker " plate not included.
